Former minister of state for petroleum, Timipre Marlin Sylva has been declared winner of the Bayelsa State APC gubernatorial Primary.
According to the result declared by Major Gen. AD Jubrin, Sylva, a former governor of the state got 52,061 votes to beat other contenders.
Chief David Lyon, the governor-elect in 2019, came third.
Lyon polled 1,582 votes behind Great Joshua MacIver, who got 2,078 votes.
Prof. Ongoebi Etebu won 1277 votes, Mrs Ikisima Ogbomade 584 and Festus Daumiebi 557.
In his victory speech, Sylva solicited the support of other contestants to secure victory for the APC.
Sylva said: “Lets us work together as family to win the Bayelsa governorship election on Nov. 11, 2023”.
