Two thousand South eastern businessmen have contributed N1 billion to support the campaign of Asíwájú Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress.
Governor Hope Uzodimma made this known Thursday at the Town Hall meeting between Tinubu and business leaders in the region.
He said membership of the group was drawn from the five states of the region.
A spokesman for the group Emeka Mgbudem said the group believes in Nigeria and is committed to peace.
He said members contributed N500,000 each because they believe in Tinubu, after reading his Action Plan for Nigeria.
He said where an Ibo man puts his money, he puts his heart.
He however asked Tinubu to remove the numerous checkpoints on the roads in the region and also build the roads linking the state capitals in the region.
Responding, Tinubu pledged to introduce technology in the clearing of goods at the ports that will render unnecessary the checkpoints on the roads.
He also promised to run a government where all Nigerians are treated equally.

Am one of the ardent supporter and we have been working tirelessly toward the success of Asiwaju Ticket.
My observations is about the Asiwaju political jingles mostly aired in Radio stations (Using English) may I suggest that, pls all Asiwaju political jingles should be communicated with the language of the inhabitants. Let’s penetrate and sell Asiwaju in every language in order to show our dominance everywhere.
Secondly, Asiwaju anthem is very important and a diffrent political key that shows capacity, commitment and loyalty of the followers…thinks how translate that too.
I will be glad if the Presidential Campaign Council of APC (BAT/KSM) could put together, all the laudable projects and programs as they affect each each state in Nigeria. The list of the achievements of the President Muhammadu Bihari should be read out during the official campaigns of APC in every state. Ask the opposition too to showcase their own achievements in their times.
All the Ministers have array of marvelous projects and programs that can convince the masses. Magnificent road, rail, sea, air projects, security equipments etc are there to showcase. Many Nigerians are not aware of much accomplishments of the present APC administration.
APC should consider and give this serious attention. When the whole world is aware of the numerous accomplishments, the assurance of getting more from BAT would certainly sink with the masses.
